Packing Instructions
Proper Storage of the Sinar F Monorail Large Format Camera in its flight case:
- Set both front and rear standards to 'normal' position (ie. standard height and zero tilt).
- Remove the bellows completely from the camera and place at the bottom of the case in the middle.
- Move the front and rear standards of the camera to the maximum extension at the very ends of the rail.
- Use the fine focus knob to move the rear standard to the end of its travel, so the two standards are as far away from each other as possible.
- Lower the rear standard to the minimum height.
- Tilt rear standard containing the viewing screen forward until it is horizontal and lock it in place.
- Tilt front standard backwards until it is horizontal and lock it in place.
- Take the camera off the rail clamp.
- Put the camera in the case with the lens to the bottom, so that the lens board rests on the bellows and the lens is protected.
- Fold up the dark cloth and place it on top of the rail.
- Put the film holders horizontally into the side compartment.
- Place the rail clamp upside down in the side compartment.
The case lid should close without putting pressure on the camera. If it doesn't, you may need to re-adjust the height of the standards on the camera or check that there aren't items in the pockets causing an obstruction.
