Health and Safety Checklist:

Bags - All bags and cases must be stored in a safe location away from any thoroughfares.

Tripod - The tripod must be set up correctly on even ground, ensuring the spreader is locked, the legs are raised evenly and do not slip under pressure.

Mounting the Camera - Make sure that the camera is mounted on the tripod correctly ensuring the plate is fastened securely to both the camera and the tripod.

Stability - Ensure that if the camera is front or back heavy there is a supporting leg taking that weight.

Also – Be aware that when hiring equipment, you are fully responsible for that equipment, take note when unpacking so that when packing away the equipment is stored in the same way. All equipment is packed in a specific way to avoid damage and wearing to the equipment. If it isn’t stored correctly you are liable for a fine.

Induction Check list:

(Looking from the back)

IMPORTANT *Top of the camera set dial on the left to “M” (Manual)*

Battery – Battery open is located on the bottom of the camera, slide the clip in the direction of the arrow to open, slide battery arrow side down until you hear the click, to remove slide the right clip holding the battery in to one side.

CF card – SD card will not work, CF card is what is needed, the card insert is located on the right side of the camera, pull the cliding hatch towards you then out to open, you will see the insert for the car, slide card in face towards you until you hear click.

Power Switch – Located to the bottom left of the screen rotate until the white line is next to “ON”, rotate opposite until parallel to “OFF” to switch off.

Format SD card – Press “MENU” located to next to the top left of the screen, use the toggle to the top right of the screen to scroll across, 5th from the left you’ll see the first wrench icon, use the wheel below the toggle to scroll down to “format” press the centre of the wheel then toggle to “OK”.

Focus – Canon lens – the first ring at the end of the lens is your manual focus OR on the side of the lens you have auto/manual switch, for AUTO switch to auto and when you have the subject in frame, on the back, top right of the camera find “AF ON” press this and the camera will auto focus. Sigma lens – Only focus option is on the lens, again first ring, closest to end of the lens

Zoom – Canon lens - on the back of the camera, the very top right button you will see a button, the icon is a cross grid in a frame, this is your zoom, the zooms are set, 3 set zooms, no gradual zoom, there is no back zoom so keep pressing forward zoom and it will go back to default. Sigma – same applies

Iris – located on the left at the front on the bottom row the button that says IRIS, pushing this will either set it to auto or manual, if manual make sure your camera is letting enough light in, you can scroll up or down to adjust with the dial in front of the IRIS button.

Gain/ISO – top of the camera you will see a screen with four buttons above the top display, third from the left is “ISO” press this and the options will come up on the screen, usually the camera likes to be around 1600, but set to your preference by scrolling through to see.

White Balance – Located on the top of the camera above the top display, first from the left is “WB” button, the white balance pre sets will come up on the main screen, to manually set scroll to the far right with the back wheel to “K” then use the dial on the top right of the camera, put a white piece of paper in the frame and scroll until you hit a perfect white.

Shutter – The display on the top of the camera you will see in the top left number which is your shutter number, use the scroll on the top of the camera to set this to 50 if you are shooting in real time.

Record Button – To record video on this camera you need to press the button in the centre of the wheel at the back of the camera

Playback – located on the back of the camera, next to the screen on the left second button from the bottom is a play symbol, press this and you can play back your clips
