There are twelve screens around New Adelphi for displaying information, notices and student work.

Content Guidance

All content must be age appropriate and suitable for viewing by members of the public. Content should be produced to a high standard; poorly produced or inappropriate material will be rejected.

Replay of content subject to copyright will require confirmation of permission from the copyright holder.

When producing content for public display, please remember to include the name of your event, the date and time that it will take place, and any ticket and contact information. Try to not include large amounts of text; use imagery to attract attention and include a web address where people can find further information. If you are producing film or video content for advertising an event, please remember to hold the information on screen long enough for people to read. A better method would be to use an overlay, displaying the event information throughout the length of your film.

In exceptional circumstances, such as a special event or conference, it is possible to temporarily override other content. Please discuss this when submitting your media.

Filenames

If you are producing a batch of posters or films for display at various times during the year, it would be appreciated if you could name your files in the following format:

  • STARTDATEANDTIME-ENDDATEANDTIME-NAMEOFEVENT.JPG

The above example is, of course, for a still JPEG file, but the format is the same for .MP4 or .MOV video files.

The date format is YYMMDDHHMM using the 24 hour clock, meaning that content which should start appearing at 1pm on 23rd September 2019 would be 1909231300. For example:

  • 1909231300-1909271900-bigevent.jpg

The above named file would appear on screens between 1pm on 23rd September 2019 and stop appearing after 7pm on 27th September 2019.

Film

Three display screens are dedicated to playing film and video content.

The film displays can be found in the following locations:

Area Location
Level 0 2x2 video wall facing the Cockcroft Road / Cafe entrance.
Level 0 3x3 video wall adjacent to the Business School entrance.
Reception The right screen behind main reception.

Specification

Content for the film displays should be provided in the following format:

  • Dimensions: 1920 x 1080 pixels
  • Framerate: Up to 60 fps
  • Orientation: Landscape Only
  • Compression: H.264
  • Container: MP4

Each film is shown in its entirety and once all have been shown, the pool of films will repeat.

Stills

Nine screens are installed around the building which display poster images relevant to the School of Arts & Media.

Displays can be found in the following locations:

Area Location
Level 0 Facing the main bank of three lifts.
Level 1 Facing out into the atrium.
Level 2 On the lift balcony.
Level 3 Facing the rear side of the main bank of three lifts.
Level 4 On the lift balcony.
Level 5 On the lift balcony.
Level 6 On the lift balcony.
Level 7 Facing the main bank of three lifts.
Reception The left screen behind main reception.

Specification

Content for the still poster displays must be provided in the following format:

  • Dimensions: 1920 x 1080 pixels
  • Orientation: Landscape Only
  • Compression: JPEG
  • Quality Setting: High

Each image is shown for 25 seconds, displayed in random order from the image pool.
