Display Screens
There are fourteen display screens around New Adelphi used for displaying student work and promotional material.
Specification
Content for the displays should be provided at a minimum of 1920 x 1080 resolution, or 1080 x 1920 resolution for portrait displays. Content is not rotated, therefore landscape content on a portrait display, or vice versa, will be letterboxed or pillarboxed and appear at a reduced size.
While "4K" content at 3840 x 2160 is supported, the displays are not all capable of this resolution, and content will be scaled down automatically on those panels. If, for artistic reasons, lower resolution content is to be displayed it must first be scaled up to the minimum resolution, or provided at its original size on a 1080p canvas. It is preferable to do this before submitting the content, as it gives the creator more control over the method of display.
All content will be re-encoded by the display screen system when uploaded.
Most formats are supported, but still images are usually accepted as JPEG or PNG files, while video can be H.264 or H.265 encoded in MOV or MP4 containers. Animated GIF files are not supported.
Should the display system run out of content a fallback playlist will be displayed.
Posters
Seven of the screens are single panels, primarily for still image "posters". They are used to provide general purpose information and promotional material, with each poster displayed for around twenty seconds.

Video
Other display screens show both video and still image content.

Content Guidance
All content must be suitable for viewing by members of the public. Content should be produced to a high standard; poorly produced or inappropriate material will be rejected.
Replay of content subject to external copyright will require an appropriate licence or written confirmation of permission from the copyright holder.
In exceptional circumstances, such as a special event or conference, it is possible to temporarily override other content. Please discuss this when submitting your media.
